Prefectural increases in minimum wage mark significant boost, but disparities linger

With renewed minimum wages recommended by prefectural minimum wage councils set to be implemented nationwide starting between Oct. 19 and 31, attention is focused on whether these raised minimum wages can narrow societal economic gaps.
