Towa Bank gave loans to ailing firms with ties

The Financial Services Agency on Friday ordered Maebashi-based Towa Bank to improve its system of screening loan requests since the bank is suspected of having knowingly extended loans to firms in financial straits resulting in a significant expansion of the bank’s debts.
