October supermarket sales drop 1.1%, down for 22nd month

Japan’s supermarket sales in October fell 1.1 percent from a year before on a same-store basis due to sluggish sales of autumn clothing because of the lingering heat wave until the first half of that month, an industry group said Thursday.
