Yomiuri: Selecting FX fighter not plain sailing

The Defense Ministry is whittling down the candidates for the aircraft it will select as Japan’s next main fighter jets (FX fighters). These jets will defend the skies above Japan and help ensure our national security. However, costs and other aspects of the fighters must not be overlooked when the ministry makes its decision in summer 2008.
