Asahi: Special tax benefits

Many of the dozens of expensive tax breaks enjoyed by specific groups of taxpayers raise some serious questions about fairness. The main opposition party, Minshuto (Democratic Party of Japan), has pledged to review these “special taxation measures” in earnest.
