Kodansha and Yahoo! distribute exclusive manga online for free
Japan’s largest publisher will release exclusive manga content viewable on the internet for free starting Wednesday, the Asahi Shimbun reports.
Kodansha Limited, the largest publishing company in Japan and owner of several of the nation’s most popular manga magazines, will distribute 8 exclusive manga cartoons written by Kenichi Muraeda through Yahoo! Japan. The different comics will be updated weekly to monthly
Muraeda is previously known for the manga “Kamen Rider Spirits,” also known as “Masked Rider Spirits” in the U.S., from the Kodansha-published monthly “Magazine Z.“
Yahoo! Japan has distributed manga over the internet since 2003, but this is the first time the company will offer a comic for free and together with a major publishing company.
The service will be available from Wednesday through Yahoo! Japan’s website.
