Actress Ryoko Hirosue divorces

27-year-old actress and pop singer Ryoko Hirosue announced Thursday on her personal website that she has divorced husband, designer Takahiro Okazawa, after nearly four years of marriage.

Ryoko Hirosue is best known to Western audiences from her appearance in the Luc Besson-produced movie “Wasabi,” in which she co-starred with Jean Reno, but is mainly known in Japan for her many appearances in drama productions such as “Oyaji,” “Long Vacation” and “Summer Snow.“

“My trust and respect for Okazawa has not changed, but our relationship is now that of a mother and a father,” Hirosue wrote.

Hirosue and Okazawa were already expecting a child when they married in December 2003. Hirosue gave birth to the couple’s son in April 2004.

Hirosue’s personal website has become unavailable due to “maintenance downtime or capacity problems” since the announcement was made.

  4. Its been fashionable to hold RH in disfavour since the announcement of her out-of-wedlock pregnancy at age 22. Yet I always saw her as a class act. Only those who were still virgins at age 22 or those without a divorce in the family can hereby post disrespectful comments about her.

  6. Nobody’s posting disrespectful comments about her here though… Not that I’ve seen such comments anywhere else either, to be honest. Are you talking about 2ch posters or what?
