Sony releases limited edition deep red Playstation Portable

Sony Computers Entertainment Inc. will be releasing a limited edition of their popular portable gaming system the PSP (Playstation Portable) in a deep red color on Dec. 13, Japanese gaming site Famitsu.com reports.

The limited edition, aptly named “Deep Red,” will be sold as either a “value pack” set, or a more expensive “1seg pack” set. The value pack will include, except for the deep red PSP itself, a pouch, a strap, a piece of cloth and a Memory Stick Duo (32 mb), while the 1seg pack will include the aforementioned items, as well as a larger memory card, a stand to place the PSP on and last but not least, a tuner for viewing digital video and data such as TV shows on the PSP through the Japanese data broadcasting service 1seg.

The value pack and the 1seg pack will both be available throughout Japan starting Dec. 13, prices set at 22,800 yen and 29,800 yen respectively. A new battery charger for the PSP will also be released on the same day.
