Takuro Yoshida cancels tour because of tonsillitis

61-year-old Singer Takuro Yoshida’s countrywide tour that was scheduled to have opened at Tokyo’s Parthenon Tama on Friday was called off in the last minute, it was learnt on Saturday, Japanese news portal Iza! reports.

Yoshida’s record label said Kichida had got smitten by both a cold and a tonsillitis infection, and had been recommended to rest for one week by his doctor. Yoshida had nonetheless went as far as to the concert hall, but once there realized his tonsild were too swollen for him to sing satisfactorily, and decided to cancel the concert, according to the record label.

Fans of Kichida will at earliest be able to see him perform on Tuesday at the Edogawa Culture Center, also in Tokyo, while the Parthenon Tama concert has been postponed to December 11.
