‘Let Fujimori come to Japan’, PNP leader urges
The People’s New Party (PNP) leader Shizuka Kamei urged Chile to consider allowing Fujimori, currently under house arrest in Santiago, to come to Japan to be able to take part in election campaigning on Wednesday, Kyodo News reported.
Fujimori, who announced he would run as a candidate for the PNP, is currently under house arrest in Chile, likely to face extradition to Peru where he will face corruption and human rights charges.
“If such an excellent politician cannot make any contribution in Peru, we would like him to do his best for Japan by making use of his experience and insight,” the report quoted Kamei.
