Gov’t to clamp down on job brokering

The government likely will ask ministries and agencies to stop brokering jobs for retired officials who have been landing a succession of cushy jobs at public corporations or public-service foundations and receiving handsome retirement allowances, known as “descent from heaven” (amakudari) in Japanese, it has been learned.
