LDP gives up crucial Upper House post to DPJ

The ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) is set to hand over the post of House of Councillors Budget Committee chairman — seen as the most important post in the chamber — to the opposition Democratic Party of Japan (DPJ), LDP sources said.
