Number of female local gov’t bosses below target

The percentage of women in managerial positions in municipal governments, ordinance-designated major cities and prefectural governments has hit at an all-time high, but is still far short of the 30 percent target the government has set for 2020, according to a survey released by the Cabinet Office on Tuesday.
