Fate of new antiterrorism bill uncertain

Prospects for a new antiterrorism bill remain uncertain with the Democratic Party of Japan, which has a majority in the House of Councillors, continuing to oppose the legislation and some in the ruling camp voicing reluctance to force the bill through if it is voted down in the upper house.
