Summit spells out ‘Fukuda doctrine’

In his summit meeting Friday with U.S. President George W. Bush, Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda succeeded in affirming the importance of combining the Japan-U.S. alliance and Asian diplomacy–the two key pillars of the “Fukuda doctrine.“
