Fukuda Cabinet disapproval rate hits 50%
The disapproval rate on Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda’s Cabinet surpassed for the first time 50 percent in a poll conducted by the Mainichi Shimbun, the daily reported Monday.
The disapproval rate in the weekend survey was 51%, up 6 points from the previous poll in January. The support rate on the Cabinet was also the lowest since the Cabinet’s inauguration in last September, at 30 percent, 3 points lower than in the January poll.
The telephone survey was conducted on 1,043 randomly selected eligible voters across Japan.
