U.S. urges Japan not to conduct this year’s whaling

The United States urged Japan on Monday to discontinue this year’s whaling a day after a fleet of six Japanese ships departed Shimonoseki port, Yamaguchi Prefecture, on an expedition to the Antarctic Ocean.
