Supreme Court decision kills Ritto Shinkansen station plan

The Supreme Court on Friday upheld a high court ruling stating it was illegal for the municipal government of Ritto, Shiga Prefecture, to issue city bonds to finance makeshift railway tracks for a planned Tokaido Shinkansen station, turning down the mayor’s appeal.
