DPJ-backed Hiramatsu wins Osaka mayor race

Kunio Hiramatsu, a former local announcer backed by the Democratic Party of Japan and People’s New Party, won Sunday’s Osaka mayoral election, defeating incumbent Junichi Seki and three other candidates.
