Typhoon No. 4 approaches Japan
Typhoon No. 4 (International name: Man-Yi) was rapidly approaching the Ryukyu islands on Thursday, and was at 0 A.M. Japan time approximately 220 kilometers south of Naha, Okinawa Prefecture, moving rapidly north-northwest and increasing in strength on the way.
Japan Meteorological’s forecast Thursday night forecast was as follows: On Friday, the typhoon will hit the Ryukyu islands, and bring with it heavy rain. On Saturady, it will close in on Shikoku’s shoreline, and on Sunday there is a possibility it will hit the south-east of the Kanto (Tokyo) area. Japan’s Metoerological Agency has issued warnings for gales and high waves on the sea.
