Japan will remain ‘calm’ over Australia’s stance on whalers

Japan will remain “calm” over Australia’s announcement to dispatch a vessel and aircraft to shadow Japanese whalers in the Antarctic, and will continue to seek understanding over the need to conduct research whaling, Chief Cabinet Secretary Nobutaka Machimura said Wednesday.
