College baseball: Keio beats Waseda 7-3

Today, in the 8th week of the intercollegiate Tokyo Big 6 Baseball League, the baseball match traditionally held between top Tokyo universities Keio and Waseda, known as the “Soukeisen”, ended with Keio beating Waseda 7-3, Asahi Shimbun reports. 34,000 spectators were on site at Meiji University’s Jingu stadium to cheer for their favorite team.

Waseda had until today won all of it’s previous eight matches played in the league, while Keio had lost two of it’s previous eight matches. If Keio also wins their next game against Waseda, the play offs will be between Keio, Waseda and Meiji University.
